How to Convert a Proposal to an Invoice

When a client accepts your proposal, you can quickly convert it to an invoice. This saves time and ensures accuracy.

Step 1: Open the Accepted Proposal

Go to "Proposals" and open the proposal that has been accepted by the client.

Step 2: Convert to Invoice

On the proposal detail page, click the "Convert to Invoice" button.

What Gets Converted

When you convert a proposal, the following information is copied to the new invoice:

  • Client and project information
  • All line items (including milestones)
  • Tax categories and rates
  • Discounts
  • Notes and terms
  • Currency

Step 3: Review and Adjust

After conversion, you'll be taken to the invoice edit page where you can:

  • Review all the copied information
  • Add or remove line items
  • Adjust amounts if needed
  • Set the invoice due date
  • Update notes or terms

Step 4: Save the Invoice

Click "Update Invoice" to save. The invoice is now ready to send to the client.

💡 Tip:

Converting a proposal to an invoice maintains the link between them, so you can track which invoices came from which proposals.
