How to Convert a Proposal to an Invoice
When a client accepts your proposal, you can quickly convert it to an invoice. This saves time and ensures accuracy.
Step 1: Open the Accepted Proposal
Go to "Proposals" and open the proposal that has been accepted by the client.
Step 2: Convert to Invoice
On the proposal detail page, click the "Convert to Invoice" button.
What Gets Converted
When you convert a proposal, the following information is copied to the new invoice:
- Client and project information
- All line items (including milestones)
- Tax categories and rates
- Discounts
- Notes and terms
- Currency
Step 3: Review and Adjust
After conversion, you'll be taken to the invoice edit page where you can:
- Review all the copied information
- Add or remove line items
- Adjust amounts if needed
- Set the invoice due date
- Update notes or terms
Step 4: Save the Invoice
Click "Update Invoice" to save. The invoice is now ready to send to the client.
💡 Tip:
Converting a proposal to an invoice maintains the link between them, so you can track which invoices came from which proposals.
