How to Create a Contract

Contracts help you manage legal agreements with your clients. Here's how to create one:

Step 1: Navigate to Contract Creation

Click "Contracts" in the navigation menu, then click "Create Contract", or visit /contracts/create.

Step 2: Select Project (Optional)

If creating from a project page, the project will be pre-selected. Otherwise, choose a project from the dropdown. This helps link the contract to specific work.

Step 3: Enter Contract Details

Fill in the contract information:

  • Contract Title: Name or title of the contract (required)
  • Contract Reference Number: Your internal reference (optional)
  • Description: Brief description of the contract
  • Contract Type: Type of contract (e.g., Service Agreement, NDA, etc.)
  • Status: Set initial status (usually "Draft")
  • Expiry Date: When the contract expires (optional)
  • Notes: Additional notes or terms

Step 4: Upload Contract File

Upload the contract document:

  • Click "Choose File" to select a PDF or document
  • Supported formats: PDF, DOC, DOCX
  • File will be stored securely and accessible through the portal

Step 5: Create Contract

Click "Create Contract" to save. A contract number will be automatically generated.

After Creation

Once created, you can:

  • Share the contract with the client
  • Track contract status
  • View when it was shared and acknowledged
  • Manage contract lifecycle
💡 Tip:

Contracts are automatically linked to the selected project and client. This helps keep all project-related documents organized.
