How to Create a Proposal

Proposals help you present your services and pricing to potential clients. Here's how to create one:

Step 1: Navigate to Proposals

Click on "Proposals" in the navigation, then click "Create Proposal", or visit /proposals/create.

Step 2: Select Client and Project

Choose the client and project for this proposal. If you select a project, you'll be able to add milestones from that project.

Step 3: Add Milestones (Optional)

If you selected a project, you can:

  • See all milestones for that project
  • Select which milestones to include
  • Selected milestones are automatically added as line items
  • Adjust amounts if needed

Step 4: Add Line Items

Add line items manually or use milestones. For each line item, specify:

  • Description: Item description
  • Quantity: Number of units
  • Unit Price: Price per unit
  • Tax Category: Select applicable tax (optional)

Step 5: Set Proposal Details

Configure additional details:

  • Issue Date: When the proposal is issued
  • Valid Until: Proposal expiration date
  • Currency: Currency for the proposal
  • Notes: Additional information for the client
  • Terms: Terms and conditions

Step 6: Save the Proposal

Click "Create Proposal" to save. You can then send it to the client or convert it to an invoice if accepted.

💡 Tip:

Using milestones makes proposal creation faster and ensures consistency. The system automatically calculates totals including taxes and discounts.
