How to Manage Proposals
Managing proposals helps you track client responses and convert them to invoices. Here's how:
Viewing Proposals
Access your proposals by clicking "Proposals" in the navigation menu, or visit /proposals.
Editing a Proposal
To edit a proposal:
- Click on the proposal you want to edit
- Click "Edit"
- Update the proposal details, line items, or terms
- Click "Update Proposal" to save
Updating Proposal Status
Track your proposal's progress by updating its status:
- Draft: Still being prepared
- Sent: Shared with the client
- Accepted: Client has accepted
- Rejected: Client declined
- Expired: Past the expiry date
Sending Proposals
To share a proposal with a client:
- Open the proposal
- Click "Send Proposal"
- Generate a portal link or send via email
- The client will receive access to view the proposal
Generating Proposal PDF
To download a PDF version:
- Open the proposal
- Click "Download PDF"
- A professional PDF will be generated and downloaded
Converting to Invoice
When a proposal is accepted:
- Open the accepted proposal
- Click "Convert to Invoice"
- The system creates a new invoice with the proposal's details
- You can then edit and send the invoice
Linking Milestones
You can link project milestones to proposals, similar to invoices. This helps track which milestones are included in proposals.
💡 Tip:
Set an expiry date on proposals to create urgency. Expired proposals can be updated and resent if needed.
